The Council has a funding problem. This means over the next tean years, there is more work to be done than money to pay for it. This challenge is exacerbated by the current economic climate and has resulted in the Council proposing the following in the draft LTCCP:- reduce operation expenditure
- substantially reducing the capital works programme
- proposal to sale assets (land and pensioner housing)
It is important that the Council get its planning right and it needs your input to achieve that. Therefore the Council is inviring everyone to express their views by making written submissions by 5pm on Monday 8 June 2009. Submission forms are available from Council offices and public libraries and online. |
